So, after 11 hours we touch down in Rio de Janeiro. It was only at check-in that we realised this ‘direct’ flight had passengers getting off and on in Rio. A change of crew and a cleaned up plane we set off on the final 2 1/2 hours to Buenos Aires, arriving to 30c. Feeling the heat walking off the plane let’s you know you have travelled!
Passport control was relatively easy, bags came quickly and we headed out. A large office by the entrance advertised ‘official’ taxis. For $32 we were shown to an unofficial looking car. Nevertheless, we arrived at our destination some 40 minutes later.
The apartment is located in the Recoleta area of the city where shops, bars, restaurants are plentiful – good quality and inexpensive. A shopping mall only a 10 minute walk away. JohnS wanted to find the old cemetery full of exotic mausoleums, lo and behold, you could see it from our balcony.

Congrats to JG on the apartment as we have access to the leisure facilities on the top floor: gym, spa, jacuzzi and infinity pool. So welcome after a long flight!
