In a surprising turn of events, JohnS is back in South America, Argentina to be precise, flying back into Buenos Aires. Unlike the earlier trip where we dotted all around South America, this time he intends to focus on exploring the southern parts of Argentina. Here he has arrived in Bariloche to stunning peaks.

Once recovered from the journey, a visit to the Reserva Ecológica Costernera Sur was on the cards. This is an area of marshland to the east of the city centre.

The next day was planned to take a short hike up Cerro Capilla.

The Colonia Suiza provides a little light relief of tourist opportunities and colour.

Returning to central Bariloche to explore the city more by evening.

Onwards to El Califate. The Glaciar Perito Moreno was impressive. The scale brought into perspective when compared to the tourist viewing boat. Occasional crackling and shotgun-like bangs signal new ice fractures within the glacier.
